WRITING TOOLS
The notebook

ULTIMATELY, THIS IS A SITE FOR TEACHERS AND STUDENTS.

TEACHERS GIVE NOTES. STUDENTS TAKE NOTES.

SO HERE ARE THE NOTES.

All the notes are in Cornell format. If you are not taking/giving notes in Cornell form, start. Decades of research have gone into note taking, and the Cornell method has been proven year after year as the most effective way to fight forgetting knowledge. Essentially, you visit the notes three times: once to take the notes, once to review the notes and identify questions that still remain, and once to summarize the notes in a way that answers the essential question (i.e., the "Why do we need to know this junk?" question). I have my student notes color coded for topical reference: green for  grammar, purple for writing, blue for research, and white for literary context and genres.
